Don't call it decoupage

I am overcome with Mod Podge fever.  It's so easy to do. These are the little chairs I found in the hard rubbish a few weeks ago.

I'm going to Mod Podge the entire woooorld!! You need to keep out of my path or I will modpodja!

This is next.

I'm going to put some of that vintage wallpaper, so generously passed my way by Estelle that didn't quite make it to the dolls's's house, to use. (The dolls's's house has gone to sleep. A long long sleep.)

Another excellent recent hard rubbish request fulfilled:

It was a rather specific request too. After selling Zig's loft bed with built-in desk we were on the lookout for a little desk. I had been coveting my friend's maptop desk she'd found at the Camberwell markets a few years ago for $15.

Husbandido unwonkified it and now it is solid, sturdy and ready for study!

Hard rubbish really is the best thing.

Zig is having a mental health day today. End-of-termitis is rampant and everyone's a little 'sensitee'.

We're off to buy this:

I'm seeing Eddie Izzard tonight.  Are you seeing Eddie Izzard tonight?

I hope I don't embarrass myself and say something silly.

What about the cat?

I have just heard this song for the first time. Very nice.

According to wiki-intelligence, Noah and the Whale named themselves after one of their favourite movies.

I loved the film 'The Squid and the Whale'. Have you seen it? (Sookie's in it.)

Kramer vs Kramer also made a huge impression on me when I first saw it, aged 9.

Notice a theme?

Please, please, please let me get what I want

Yes, we are moving interstate. Yes, we are decluttering. Yes, we are slowly starting to pack up the house (well, the bits I don't want the professionals to deal with - I know! that's one of the best things about this move - someone else will be packing and unpacking all our stuff!).

And yes, I went to a garage sale yesterday.

I'm very excited that we will be moving into a larger house (when we find it) and that Saskia will have her own room. (Her cot is in our room and she generally ends up in our bed, so we'll see how this all goes.)

I'm already styling her room in my brainy mind thoughts (a little girl's room!) and this mirror is part of that creative vision. And it was only $1.

The scales were $2. There was a black set with a matching bowl but it was $5. However, self-restraint is one of my strengths, obviousleyment.

And the politically incorrect set of placemats was $1.

Ziggy also picked up a stack of comics for one buckerooney.

I think I may just have my mojo back.

This made me a little teary:

Darkest before the dawn

Can't seem to sleep. Here's a song. This woman's voice is something else.

This moment

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savour and remember. - Soule Mama

In the Can

See what I recently received in the post from the lovely Kylie? Some gorgeous vintage trays. Because she knows I like gorgeous vintage trays.

And an alphabet wall chart, beautifully finished in hobbytex. Because she knew I was looking for an alphabet wall chart.

Hobbytex! My mother weilded these like weapons during the '70s - nothing escaped her inspiration. I still think of my much-loved Winnie-the-Pooh pillowcase.

Now, I know I recently mentioned I had some news - well, not that recently, sorry, bit busy and lacking in bloggery inspiration at the moment - well.

Well!

See the tray below?

We will be moving there in January. Not the tray. The Can. (How did Kylie know?!)

Husbandido and I both spent our teens there, and both vowed we'd never return.

But this is a stepping-stone (husbandido's job) in our ambitious plan for the foocha!

It's taken me a while to get my head around the idea (reality, not idea!) - that's what I've been 'busy' doing - but now I'm very excited and looking forward to this much-needed change. This time last year we were about to pack our bags and head to Chillay.

Things change (new governments scrap previous government initiatives!), and I'm determined (and choose) to make this a positive experience.

And there will be ope shopes!

So! Well. Here's hoping we find something lovely to live in like this:

Or something like it. Or something even just near it.

This site is fun: Canberra House.

I'm especially looking forward to weekends spent here:

Hello Mrs! (I know you're happy about this move. Big kiss.)

We were in Hobart two weeks ago. We went here.

I will expatiate soonly.

**Edit - Grandpa has informed me that he was once seriously considering buying the Robin Boyd Aranda house above. I did not know that. I'll take that as a serendipitous omen!
